The Story of Buck the Lumberjack.

Some trucks are built for the road. This one was built for where the road ends.

For years, this Jeep J10 worked deep in the forests of North Carolina. It carried a crew of lumberjacks to remote places no ordinary vehicle could reach, and it hauled every tool and every piece of material they needed to get the job done. It was never only about the truck. It was about the men who depended on it.

Then the company closed. The crew went home, and the truck sat abandoned, still carrying the marks of every long day it had worked.

One of the crew retired and kept this truck. It belonged to the company, and he never returned it. That is how it came to me: I bought it from him.

When it came into my garage, I didn’t see a forgotten machine.

I saw a workhorse ready for the next task. It never gives up, and with its three-speed it is ready to climb the hills.

It is ready to fight like the first day, standing with its crew.

We took care of some of the scars the woods left on this truck. It was not easy, and some of them were never going to be erased. We left those on purpose. They show how hard the job was, and you can imagine how the men who worked with this truck fought against nature every day.

This is Buck the Lumberjack.
